Senior School 16+ Entry [external applicants] Application deadline:
Friday 25th October 2024: application deadline to apply for 16+ entry and/or a 16+ scholarship at the Senior School.  This is also the deadline to register an interest in applying for a bursary application pack.

Thursday 21st November 2024: entrance assessment day for 16+ entry and 16+ scholarship applications.  The morning will include assessments in whichever subject the candidate is applying for the scholarship in. Practical assessments for scholarship applications will take place in the afternoon.  Outcome letters will be sent by the end of December 2024.

It is expected that all students will take three, two-year linear A-level courses over their two years of Sixth Form study, culminating in terminal exams at the end of Year 13. Individual situations do, of course, vary greatly and the number and type of examinations taken by each student will depend upon decisions made in conjunction with tutors, parents/guardians and other appropriate members of staff.

In general terms to qualify for the Sixth Form, we would expect a student to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grades 9-5 or equivalent, including English and Maths, with at least grade 6 in the subject to be taken at A-level (or a related subject if the subject undertaken has not been previously studied).

For Mathematics, the Sciences and Modern Foreign Languages we expect a student to have achieved at least grade 7 at GCSE. In addition, all students will pursue an enrichment programme and participate in Games lessons.
