Our next Old Ewellian drinks reunion is next Thursday 31st January at The Spring Tavern in Ewell from 7pm.  We look forward to seeing you there. 

New Year - New School Principal

We are delighted to welcome Mr Silas Edmonds as new Principal of Ewell Castle School.  He replaces Mr Peter Harris who left in December to take up the post of Headmaster at his former school in Sheffield.  We thank Mr Harris for the contributions he made to Ewell Castle School over the five years he was Principal, including the expansion of co-education in the Senior School, a new Music Pavilion, the introduction of the ECSports Academy and the Performing Arts Academy.  Mr Edmonds is well known in the local area as he was previously Acting Principal and Head of the Senior School at Surbiton High School and prior to that Deputy Head at Wallington County Grammar School.  Old Ewellians will have the opportunity to meet him at one of the many OE events that he will be attending throughout the year.

Comming soon: new OE e bulletin - What do you want in it?

We are launching a new OE e bulletin within the next couple of months.  The new e bulletins will be image led and include news from the School on sports fixtures, performing arts as well as a round up of Sixth Form news and enrichment as well as forthcoming OE events and other features.  We would love to hear from you on what sort of things you want to find out about and what you want the e bulletin to include.  This is your opportunity to help shape its content, so please email me by the end of January at c.hernandez@ewellcastle.co.uk with your feedback.

OEs vs ECS Senior Girls Netball Match - 3rd April

We are planning an OE vs ECS Senior Girls Netball Match at the Castle after lunch on Wednesday 3rd April followed by a match tea.  Ladies, if you would like to play please email me asap at c.hernandez@ewellcastle.co.uk to confirm your attendance. 

Save the date: OE Golf Day - 26th April Kingswood Golf Club

The ever popular OE Golf Day is at Kingswood Golf & Country Club on Friday 26th April.  Timings: arrival at midday for lunch followed by golf and supper in the evening.  If you can't make the golf or don't play golf but would like to come along just for lunch and/or for supper in the evening, this is also possible.  Email me at c.hernandez@ewellcastle.co.uk to reserve your place as soon as possible.  Prices and exact timings will be available in February. 

Where are they now?  Srdan Pejic - Left ECS 2017

Srdan studied A Level Maths, Economics and Business Studies whilst at Ewell Castle School and was a key member of the ECS Tennis Academy. Srdan successfully gained a Tennis Scholarship to study Business Management with a minor in Accounting at Union College in Kentucky (USA) and continues to excell in his tennis. Throughout last year he played position 2, having recorded 16 wins and just 2 losses. Last semester he continued a great run and streak to go on to win ITA regionals in singles.  Follwing his win at the Regionals, he went on to the next stage which is the ITA Cup.  This is where each winner from the regions compete for the title (best 8 in the country).  He ended up 5th ranked. With this new ranking he is currently ranked 7 in the USA.  His dedication to his tennis hasn't stopped him succeeding in his studies.  During his first semester he secured a GPA of 4.0 and in his second semester a GPA of 3.8 having one B.  We'll be continuing to track Srdan's progress and will keep you posted.
