Friday 29th April 2022 OE Golf Day Report & Results

On a bright but cold afternoon, a record 26 participants played in the 2022 OE Golf Day.  Despite the bouncy fairways and challenging pin positions there were some excellent scores recorded.  Nearest the pin was won by Dave Norden whilst the best front nine prize was won by Mark Stainer and the best back nine was won by Phil Edwards. Overall, second place was claimed by Tony Gow with an excellent score of 38 points only to be beaten by a fantastic score of 39 (and playing off a handicap of 5) by Chris Norden. We were joined at lunch and dinner by another six from Ewell Castle which added to the enjoyment of our annual golf day.

Following the success of the 2021 Old Ewellian's Golf Day at Kingswood Golf and Country Club, we are pleased to announce the date for our 2022 event.  

Golfers and non-golfers are welcome, the timings and costs are below

The full cost of the day which includes a sandwhich and chips lunch (refreshments extra), 18 holes of golf, a golfers grill supper with tea/coffee is £64.50

The cost of just the lunch is £8.50

The cost of just the golfers grill supper is £16.00

Event timings

Lunch at midday followed by group photo and first tee-off at 13:20.   Supper will be served at 19:15 and non-golfers are welcome to come along and join the group for pre supper drinks in the bar, followed by supper.

Golf Handicap

The golf handicapping system has changed with the recent introduction of the World Handicap System.  Once you have emailed Carol at oldewellians@ewellcastle.co.uk to confirm your attendance, please send details of your current golf handicap to Mr Colin Griffith, OE and 1960's representative to colinagriffith@btinternet.com. Please don’t worry if you do not have a handicap index and you would like to play in our golf day, just email Colin.  All the best.
