In a year of remarkable achievements, Ewell Castle Tennis Academy has added yet another accolade to its growing list of successes. After winning the UK National Champions in the 13U age group, the Academy has been selected by the LTA to represent England in the prestigious ISF International Schools' World Championships in the U15 age group in Serbia, 4th – 14th April 2025. This incredible honour places Ewell Castle firmly on the global tennis map and highlights the school's dedication to nurturing young talent.
This achievement is not just a triumph for Ewell Castle but also for Surrey County, where many of the players have honed their skills and represented the County in various competitions. As a proud Surrey school, Ewell Castle Tennis Academy has always drawn strength from the support and encouragement of Surrey County’s tennis community. The opportunity to represent not just their school and country but also their home county on an international stage is a moment of immense pride for these young athletes.
While the selection is a monumental achievement, the journey ahead is challenging. Preparing for a world championship requires rigorous training and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The players are already training in all weather conditions, demonstrating the determination and resilience that have brought them this far. Their preparation is being driven by Director of Tennis, Tom Burn along with Ross Sheppard and James Beaven.
Beyond physical preparation, there is also the financial challenge of funding this incredible trip. Ewell Castle is undertaking an ambitious fundraising campaign to ensure that the players have the resources they need to travel, compete, and represent their school, county, and country. Events, sponsorship opportunities, and community initiatives will be rolled out in the coming weeks, with the school appealing to supporters far and wide for their help.
We are very grateful to Adidas for providing the England kit and we are delighted to have the support of Charles Ivey Porsche Racing to help us on our way.
Ewell Castle Tennis Academy has always been deeply appreciative of the support and guidance provided by Surrey County Tennis. The county's assistance has played an invaluable role in helping the academy and its players achieve their goals. This latest achievement is as much a testament to Surrey's support as it is to the hard work and talent of the students.
When the players step onto the court at the World Championships, they will carry not only the hopes of Ewell Castle but also the pride of Surrey and England. They aim to represent the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance that have been instilled in them throughout their journey.
