Ewell Castle is proud to announce this year’s fantastic GCSE results, which embody the School’s commitment to academic excellence, enhanced through the pursuit of a well-rounded education. These outcomes are a testament to our pupils’ commitment to high performance learning, where academic success is achieved through resilience, intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset.
Our pupils’ achievements reflect not only their academic abilities but also their development as confident, agile learners, equipped with the skills and abilities to thrive in an ever-changing world. They have demonstrated the tenacity and self-belief that are hallmarks of high-performing individuals.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our Year 11 pupils for their remarkable achievements and look forward to their continued success as they advance to the next stage of their education. We also send our sincere thanks to our Castle community - supportive families and dedicated staff - whose encouragement and belief in every learner has been instrumental in this success.
This year, a record-breaking 47% of grades were 9–7, with an impressive 46% of pupils achieving 5 or more grades 9–7. Additionally, 36% of pupils achieved at least one Grade 9, reflecting the academic ambition and perseverance which thrives at Ewell Castle.
Further highlights include:
83% of all grades were 9–5, and 81% of pupils attained 5 or more grades 9–5
79% of pupils achieved a Grade 5 or above in English and Maths
We are especially proud of Felicitas, our overall top-performing GCSE pupil this year, who achieved 8 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7 — a truly exceptional performance.

We also commend Anhelina, Kieran, Aaryan, Belle, Eva-Rose and Imogen, who each achieved an average of at least two grades higher than their target grade. This level of academic value-added progress is phenomenal and reflects their determination and willingness to embrace challenge: all key attributes of high-performing learners.

Spanish: 88% of grades were 9–7
Chemistry: 87% of grades were 9–7
Religious Studies: 85% of grades were 9–7
In EAL, English Language, French, Music, and Religious Studies, the average value-added was at least one grade above target, demonstrating the transformational impact of our teaching and learning approach.
The success of our pupils in this year’s GCSE examinations is a clear indication of the effectiveness of our educational philosophy, which balances academic rigour with a wide range of co-curricular opportunities. This not only prepares our pupils for academic success but also helps them to develop the confidence, resilience and leadership skills they will need in their future careers and personal lives.
