Legacies - Nurturing Futures
NEW Legacy brochure - Leaving a Gift in Your Will to Ewell Castle School
Legacies are one of the simplest ways of giving to Ewell Castle and other charities you care about
"Most people can afford to leave a small legacy as well as taking care of their family. One's final words can affirm one's life beliefs and families will surely respect that - for many it is heart-warming to know that their loved ones had so much passion and compassion. Legacies are one of the simplest ways of giving; the problem is that few realise it." Radcliffe Consulting
Your legacy to Ewell Castle - help to nurture better futures for our pupils
For many Ewellians, Ewell Castle School has been an important, positive and formative part of their childhood and some feel that in part, they owe some of their professional success to the education, values and opportunities that Ewell Castle School provided. By leaving a gift in your will to Ewell Castle, you are giving something back and helping to provide the building blocks that will help nurture and build better futures for our pupils and for future generations of Ewellians. Through our bursary programme, you can contribute towards assisted places for a Ewell Castle education, for pupils whose families would not otherwise be able to afford one.
Ewell Castle School - a registered charity
Ewell Castle School is both an independent school and it is a charity. The School has charitable status and is overseen by a board of governors who are the charity's trustees. Unlike state schools, Ewell Castle does not receive government funding and neither does the School have any financial endowments from former pupils or staff on which to draw funds from. The School therefore relies entirely upon pupil school fees to provide the existing learning provision for pupils, to manage the upkeep of the School buildings and to develop pupil resources, equipment and opportunities for the future.
Legacies are a win win - you benefit and Ewell Castle pupils benefit
The feel-good factor and giving something back
After you've taken care of the people closest to you, a small percentage of whatever is left from your will could make a huge difference to the School. Legacy donations can provide valuable funding to help us achieve the ongoing development of Ewell Castle School and learning provision for our pupils. Our bursary programme provides assistance to those pupils who would not otherwise be able to afford an education at Ewell Castle School. By leaving a gift to the School in your will, you could provide financial assistance to many children via our bursary programme, thus ensuring your legacy and name will live on at the School after your lifetime.
Tax free giving
All bequests to charities are tax free. If you make a gift to Ewell Castle School in your will, the value will be deducted from your estate before inheritance tax is calculated, which means that you can support the School and reduce your inheritance tax liability at the same time. We recommend that you consult a solicitor or professional adviser, for specialist advice according to your own individual circumstances.
