Recruiting Senior Senior Year Group Parent Ambassadors
The Principal’s Breakfasts each half term at the Senior School are successful, both from a social and a communications perspective. They provide parents with an informal forum in which to meet with each other over coffee and pastries, as well as provide parent feedback to myself and other members of staff. However, we acknowledge that most working parents are unable to attend these events, which is why we have our Senior School Parent Ambassador Programme.
The aim of the Parent Ambassadors is to continue to improve our communication with parents and guardians as well as improve the School’s response to parent/guardian queries and suggestions.
There are usually two Year Group Parent Ambassadors per Year Group and ambassadors will remain in post for the duration of the academic year in which they are appointed. The positions are open to all Senior School parents and guardians. Those who held the positions during the academic year 2017/2018 are welcome to reapply for the coming year. If you are interested in becoming a Year Group Parent Ambassador, please email Ms Hernandez at firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 1st October 2018, stating which Year Group you are applying for. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by Monday 8th October 2018.
The first Parent Ambassador gathering will take place at the Senior School in November date tbc from 6.30-7.30pm.
The role involves the following responsibilities:
1. To attend two evening social gatherings per year, with myself and other senior members of staff (the first gathering is in November 2018 and the second will be in the Spring Term 2019) to discuss any concerns or suggestions from your respective Year Group.
2. Along with the other Year Group Parent Ambassadors, giving the School permission to email your personal email address to all parents in the Year Group you represent (as well as the other Parent Ambassadors) so the other parents/guardians in your year group can email you with suggestions or concerns they have in advance of the two gatherings, that they would like you to raise. It is also an opportunity to promote social gatherings that other parents within your own year group are organising, but you do not have to organise them yourself, just forward the details to all your year group, as you will be the only parent/guardian to have all the email addresses for your year group.
3. Supporting the PSFA (Parents Staff and Friends Association) by promoting and encouraging parents in your Year Group to attend their events.
Thank you for your continued support.
