Senior School Parent Ambassador Programme

Senior School Year Group Parent Ambassadors - Help us shape the future of Ewell Castle School

Principal’s Breakfasts at the Senior School have proved to be very successful both from a social and a communication perspective, as they have provided parents with an informal forum in which to meet with each other, as well as provide feedback to myself and other members of the School’s Senior Management.  However, we acknowledge that most working parents are unable to attend these events and we have been looking at ways to better engage with all our parents of pupils at the Senior School.

We have seen how well the Class Representative system works within the Prep School and we are keen to emulate its success at the Senior School.  As a result, we are introducing Year Group Parent Ambassadors and we hope that parents of pupils at the Senior School will want to take up these positions. 

Our aim is that they will help co-ordinate parent feedback, help shape the future of the School and facilitate those Senior School parents who wish to organise social events for their own Year Group.  There will be two Year Group Parent Ambassadors per Year Group and successful applicants will remain a Year Group Parent Ambassador for the duration of the academic year in which they are appointed. 

If you are interested in becoming a Year Group Parent Ambassador, please email Ms Hernandez at c.hernandez@ewellcastle.co.uk by Friday 13th January 2017, stating which Year Group you are applying for.  Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application the following week.  

The role is not onerous but involves the following responsibilities:

  1. Being one of two parent representatives per Year Group.
  2. Along with the other Year Group Parent Ambassadors, to attend meetings with myself and senior members of the management team (2 per year, from 7pm to 8.30pm Thursday 9th March 2017) to outline any concerns or requests from your Year Group.
  3. Giving permission for the School to email your personal email address to all parents in the Year Group you represent, so they can email you with questions or concerns they have that they would like you to put to Mr Harris at the meetings.
  4. Supporting the PSFA (Parents Staff and Friends Association) by promoting and encouraging parents in your Year Group to attend their events.
