NEW DANCE SCHOLARSHIP:   We are delighted to announce our brand NEW Dance Scholarship

We are delighted to announce our brand new dance scholarship for boys and girls for entry into Year 7 and the Sixth Form from September 2024 onwards.   The application closing date is 20th October 2023 - see https://www.ewellcastle.co.uk/admissions/scholarships-and-bursaries/ for details and to download the application form.

Dance is a new subject at Ewell Castle School and recognises pupils’ passion and admiration for the Art form. Currently Dance is offered as an option in Year 9 and is taught once a week as part of the curriculum. We believe this then allows for a smooth transition for those pupils who then wish to take the subject at GCSE. Students then studying at Key Stage 4 will take the subject three times a week, with time after School provided where required.

Pupils will learn subject specific terminology and be able to use their new knowledge to create their own choreography. The pupils will learn new Dance skills, improve on technique, and explore different Dance styles such as Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet and Hip-Hop. Pupils interested in Dance will also have the opportunity to be involved in the School musical which takes place at the Epsom Playhouse each year as part of the Dance troupe.
