Physical Education is taught in all form groups at Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9, age 11-13 years). The subject is an option subject then at GCSE (KS4) and at AS/A level.

At KS3 numbers are determined by form sizes ie. fifteen to twenty two. At GCSE and AS/A level numbers are typically fifteen and ten respectively. Students are entered for AQA exams at GCSE & AS/A level. A Sports leadership course is also run in the Sixth Form, in conjunction with Greenacre Girls, School.

A principal aim of the department is to develop an interest and enjoyment in the pursuit of physical exercise and sport in a recreational or competitive manner. This aim is reflected not only in team games for which the major games are rugby, soccer and cricket, but also by the opportunities to partake in sports such as: athletics, badminton, basketball, canoeing, cross country, fencing, golf, hockey, sailing, squash, swimming, table tennis, tennis and volleyball, either in a competitive environment (inter-school or internal) or as a recreational activity.

The school benefits from a large Sports Hall and fields on site, as well as access to other fields and facilities in the locality.
