1. Who do I contact about the website?

2. Why do I get a blank window sometimes?
This is usually your browser does not have the flash plug-in.
This is free.
98% of computers do have it.
See question 4 for details about how to obtain it

3. Why don't the programs on the science pages work?
The collision theory programs are Java applets. There are two reasons that this may not work on your browser:
  1. You do not have Java enabled in your browser
  2. You do not have a Java runtime installed

It is best to check no.1 first as this is easy to rectify. Instructions on how to do this can be found by following this link:

If this does not work then you can get the latest Java Virtual Machine for free from here. This is only likely if you have a recently purchased computer with a new copy of Windows XP on it as I understand that in their wisdom Microsoft chose not to install Java in their latest Operating System release (an upgrade to the Windows operating system should not be affected). Please let me know if this affects you as I wish to monitor this.

You may also consider updating your Java Virtual Machine from Microsoft's that will no longer be updated and is already unable to support all Java applets to Sun Microsystems (the authors of the Java programming language:


4. Why don't some other pages work?
Most pages should be easy to read.

5. What do the buttons at the top of Flash Paper pages do?
The FlashPaper toolbar contains options that let you resize a document for viewing, navigate through the document pages, select text, search the document, and print the document.

To print a document:
1. Click the Printer icon.

To select text in the document:
1. Click the Select button.
2. You can Shift-click to select multiple words or lines of text.
3. Click the Pan button to return to viewing the document.

To search the document:
1. In the search text field, type words you want to search for, and then click the Search button.
2. FlashPaper selects the first instance of the matching words.
3. To find the next instance of the matching words, click the Search button again.
Note: The search feature requires that you have Flash Player 7 installed on your computer. If you have Flash Player 6 or earlier, you cannot use the search feature.

To resize the document, do one of the following:
1. Use the Zoom slider to dynamically resize the document.
2. You can adjust the document magnification range from 25% to 250%. The Zoom text box is updated as you use the slider.
3. Enter a number in the Zoom text box to resize the document to a specific magnification.
4. Click the Fit in Viewer button to see the entire page in the viewer.
5. Click the Fit Width button to resize the document so that the width of the page fills the viewer.

To navigate or page through the document, do one of the following:
1. Enter a number in the Page Navigation text box to view a specific page.
2. Click the Previous arrow or the Next arrow to page backward or forward through a document.
3. Drag the page scroll box, located to the right of the document, to scroll through multiple-page documents.

To open a document in a new browser window:
1. Click the Open in New Browser button.
