Ewell Castle School – Proud of its 2023 GCSE examination results

Ewell Castle School is proud of our Year 11s examination results and congratulate the students, their families and the staff on these achievements. 78.8% of all grades were 9-5 and 35.7% of all grades were 9-7. 

84.2% of pupils achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and Maths GCSEs. An impressive 27.6% of students achieved 5 or more grade 9-7s and 25% of students achieved at least one grade 9.

Alisa Borisova was our top performing GCSE pupil this year, achieving 11 Grade 9s and 1 Grade 7.  The following pupils also did incredibly well; George Saunders with 9 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7. Niki Hartman with 8 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7. Lily Bowles with 7 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7. Mingyo Kim with 6 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s, 2 Grade 7s and an A in Additional Maths. Louis Keohane with 6 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s.  We are also pleased to announce that William Sweet has been offered a professional training contract with Arsenal Football Club.

Our Head of Year 11, Ms Wilkinson said “Alongside all staff, I am proud of the achievements of the Year 11 cohort. They have shown excellent commitment and resilience in their studies, and this has resulted in some highly commendable results. I have no doubt that each and every pupil will flourish in the future, and I wish them the very best.”

Principal Silas Edmonds commented: “These wonderful results are testament to the dedication and energy of our Y11 pupils. They have thrived throughout their time at Ewell Castle, and I am delighted that they have so many excellent opportunities ahead of them.”
