Year 10: AQA GCSE syllabus

Autumn Spring Summer

1.Performing - 1st Upper School Recital.

2.Introduction to composition

3. Listening and Appraising

4. Introduction to the History of Music

Musical theory, dictation, new vocabulary.

(All modules studied throughout the year.)

Special Events composition started.

 

2nd Upper School Recital performance.

Work continued on composition. To be completed by the end of half term.

 

End of year Summer exam - past GCSE paper.


Year 11: AQA GCSE syllabus

Autumn Spring Summer

October - 1st Upper School Recital performance.

November - Integrated Assignment sent from the exam board.

Final submission of Special Events composition.

Continued work on theory and Listening paper.

January - Mock exams

Continued work on Integrated Assignment. All lessons dedicated to it. Deadline end of term.

Solo and ensemble performances to be recorded.

2nd Upper School Recital performance (usually of pieces being submitted to examiner).

All coursework posted to the board.

Practice mock listening and appraising papers.

Evaluation Exam and submission of Integrated Assignments.
