Languages:
Group sizes at KS3 are on average eighteen in number. Similar or smaller groups are made at KS4 (to GCSE). Sixth form groups are less than ten in number. The school currently follows Edexcel Examining Board at GCSE and A/AS levels.
The department enjoys the use of three designated classrooms with departmental office and access to other areas for small group work. Interactive whiteboards are fitted in all teaching rooms.
French:
Students currently study French from Year 7 (age 11 years) in Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9). Thereafter the languages are offered as option subjects.
German:
Students can study German from Year 9 - however course is due to discontinue after 2011 cohort.
Spanish:
Students currently study Spanish from Year 9 in Key Stage 3. Thereafter the languages are offered as option subjects.
