Report:
On Saturday 8th September Ewell Castle played in an U11’s Football Tournament at Shrewsbury House. For the first match we played Shrewsbury House and it was a draw at 0-0. The next team we played was Chinhurst, it was a very tough match but we kept fighting and we played well, they took a shot which just got past Daniel Crego-Bustelo so the final score was 1-0 to Chinhurst. For the third match we had success against Staines Prep, Callum Smith did a tremendous kick which was near enough to the half way line but it hit the post and luckily Cameron fed off it and scored and the score was 1-0 Ewell Castle. Due to good play from all members of the team we went into the main knock out competition, some other teams went in for the plate competition. In the main competition we played Parkside who were quite a hard team but we defended well but they got passed us and scored so unfortunately we were knocked out of the competition but we were all very proud to have played as well as we did so new into the term. This was the first time for a long time that the Ewell Castle team had got so far in this competition. There was some excellent play, including great shots and fancy foot work from Daniel Crego-Bustelo and John Rhys Pritchard.
