Design & Technology is taught in all form groups at Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9, age 11-13 years). The subject is an option subject then at GCSE (KS4) and at AS/A level.
Maximum groups sizes in this practical subject are limited to approx. 12 students, and only six in the Sixth Form. Students are entered for Edexcel at GCSE & AS/A level.
Students enjoy two purpose built rooms, one for computer aided design (CAD) as well as drawing, and another a work shop fitted with some computer aided machinery eg. laser cutter, as well as other drilling, vacuum, lathe, band saw and other machines facilitating work in various materials including wood, metal, plastics, and fibre glass. Sixth Form students have access to a designated studio.
